NATIONAL ICT MONTH

Theme:  A Digitally Empowered Philippines

Let’s celebrate the National ICT Month this June!  With the theme, “A Digitally Empowered Philippines”, the event aims to actively promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation on the importance and value of ICT to different sectors. The activities lined up include, among others, the formal launch of the Philippine Digital Strategy 2011-2016, the launch of the commemorative stamp for the National ICT Month 2011, and the celebration of the 40th Founding Anniversary of the National Computer Center. All stakeholders from the private sector, academe, civil society and government, are encouraged to likewise organize their respective activities in line with celebrating the milestones of this event.

Mission.  To develop the country as a world-class ICT services provider, provide government services to stakeholders online, provide affordable Internet access to all segments of the population, develop an ICT enabled workforce, and create an enabling legal and regulatory environment.

Vision.  ePhilippines an electronically enabled society where the citizens live in an environment that wil encourage and promote the access to technologies providing quality education, efficient government service, greater sources of livelihoood, and, ultimately, a better way of life.

Mandate.  The Commission shall be the primary policy, planning, coordinating, implementing, regulating, and administrative entity of the executive branch of Government that will promote, develop, and regulate integrated and strategic ICT systems and reliable and cost-efficient communication facilities and services.
