Asean Post Featuring National Costumes  (Omnibus Issue)

In connection with the selected theme for this year's ASEAN Post Stamp Release, the Philippine Postal Corporation is issuing stamps featuring the Philippines' National Costume.  One's National costume is the source of identity, nationalism, and power. It defines of who we are as a Filipino, it is a representation of our traditions, our history. Fashion evolves through the years, and we are constantly bombarded by stylized versions of national costumes. Our national costume is one of the most common themes we see in different media.

The inspiration for this project is the luxurious lines of fashion illustration and the warm romantic ambiance of our Kundiman songs. This stamp features a man and a woman, wearing the national costume of the Philippines, the Barong Tagalog and the Baro't saya, respectively. The ASEAN Post logo appears at the lower left corner of this design.
